This surgery does not prescribe the Mounjaro injection. This can only be obtained via the local weight management service. There is strict criteria around it, so please do not expect an appointment to discuss being referred unless you know you meet the criteria. The criteria is as follows
- A BMI of 40 or higher and……..
Four or more of the qualifying comorbidities:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Dyslipidaemia (high cholesterol)
- Obstructive sleep apnoea
- Cardiovascular disease (heart disease)
- Type 2 diabetes
You will then be eligible for assessment by the weight management service to identify your suitability for Mounjaro
